Professor Oak's grandson and the player's rival in Kanto, whose name the player chooses (Blue is the usual name). He stays a step ahead all game and becomes Champion just before you arrive; in the Johto games he leads the Viridian City Gym instead. In Let's Go he battles you at Silph Co. and returns to the Viridian Gym after the story.
